Professional Adviser's Sophie King speaks to M&A specialist corporate lawyer Giles Dunning about the acquisition process and how advisers should approach potential deals

Having been a corporate lawyer for various sectors throughout his career, Dunning came into finance after getting "a taste for it". He was trained at Stephens Scown before being promoted to partner in 2016. He currently heads up Stephens Scown's corporate legal team in Exeter. "I acted on a few transactions [cases] about five years ago and you quickly get a feel for the sector," he says.
