The best way the advice sector could go about championing the profession would be by striving to present a positive image of itself to the public, argues Mark Evans.

According to the Tavistock Investments business development director, there are currently "too many negatives" in the personal finance sector - and that subsequently tends to be what the public sees. Instead, he reasons: "We should be promoting those positives - telling the public what's good about the industry, how good the people are within it, how it's been cleaned up".
