In this week's video interview for Professional Adviser's Investment Influencers series, where editorial director Lawrence Gosling chats with the most respected individuals who select funds, decide ratings or otherwise influence the allocation of investor fund flows, we hear from Scottish Widows senior manager Jon 'JB' Beckett.
In his role, Beckett acts as a ‘gatekeeper' for one of the UK's largest insurance platforms. A fund selector and strategist for more than 16 years, he is also UK lead for the Association of Professional Fund Investors, an ambassador for the Transparency Task Force, a Chartered Member and senior reviewer with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, member of the Z/Yen Long Finance think-tank and a regular columnist and presenter. He is also the author of the book #NEWFUNDORDER.
The Investment Influencers series, which has most recently featured Kelly Prior and Paul Green of BMO Global Asset Management, Amanda Sillars of Jupiter Asset Management and David Jane of Miton, offers insights into how key players in the asset management sector see the world of investing and expect to deal with such challenges as greater market volatility, increased regulation and a growing trend towards short-termism.
