Sector report: UK All Companies - 'it's as much about what you don't own as what you do'

The past 12 months have been a mixed bag for the UK All Companies sector. Charlotte Richards talks to three managers who have managed to ride out the volatility.

Last year started positively for the IMA UK All Companies sector. Beginning in January as one of the highest selling sectors with net retail sales of £156m, it looked like the woes of 2010, when the sector was the worst selling of the year, were a thing of the past. Positive flows continued in February when it was the fourth highest selling sector with £124m of new money. However, optimism did not last long as sales started to dip in May, with outflows of £104m.
