As the deadline for advisers to prepare and fully comply with the RDR draws ever closer, one of the main issues under debate is the requirement for advisers to train for further qualifications. One of the FSA’s requirements is advisers meet rigorous new standards through professional development. These include the proposal to complete a minimum of 35 hours of relevant Continuing Professional Development (CPD) per year, of which 21 must be ‘structured learning’, through participation in lectures, workshops and appropriate e-learning.
