Advisory businesses must 'step up' to attract and retain new blood

Clearer pathway to profession needed

Historic routes into advice as a career do not exist anymore and it is up to advisory businesses themselves to attract and retain new blood, delegates heard.

Speaking at The Lang Cat's New Blood: No wrong path conference today (4 February), a panel discussion honed in on attracting new talent to the profession in light of the consultancy's latest State of the Adviser Nation report. The study also released today found half of firms (46%) thought there needed to be a clearer pathway into the profession, including through schools, colleges and universities alongside improved financial education in schools.
