Greg Moss: 'FIRE isn't anti-advice'

Is ‘Financial Independence, Retire Early' the key to winning younger clients?

Financial Independence, Retire Early (FIRE) investing may not be common in the UK advice landscape, but Eleven.2 Financial Planning founder and Chartered financial planner Greg Moss believes it offers advisers an opportunity to connect with younger, disengaged investors if the profession were to stop "dismissing it as extreme or naïve".

Speaking to Professional Adviser, Moss said advisers are "very dismissive" of the FIRE strategy, viewing it as "an extreme strategy". FIRE clients, typically high earners in their 20s and 30s, are effectively "DIY financial planners" seeking to save and invest aggressively to achieve financial independence decades before the traditional retirement age.
