LV= (formerly Liverpool Victoria) has acquired Britannia Rescue from the Civil Service Motoring Association (csma) for £36m.
The purchase of the UK’s fourth largest roadside rescue provider, with approximately 300,000 customers, is further evidence of ambitious plans at LV= to expand its general insurance business substantially over the next five years. Following the deal, LV= becomes the sole provider of roadside rescue and recovery services to csma members, in addition to motor and home insurance. The Britannia Rescue name will be retained, and LV= plans to expand the business significantly through a number of channels, including insurance brokers and corporate partners.
