Advisers will need to overcome their fears on investing overseas if they are to maximise client returns, according to JPMorgan Asset Management.
JPMorgan global strategist Tom Elliot says many IFAs are hesitant about looking abroad, mainly due to the struggle to convince clients of the merits of investing outside the UK. “Advisers have an uphill battle persuading clients on global investing,” Elliot says. “There is still that perception of too much risk.” However, he believes advisers who ignore global markets are ultimately ignoring the major growth opportunities particularly in Asia.
