Standard Life recieves greenlight in Beijing

The Beijing branch of Heng An Standard Life (HASL), the Chinese joint venture between Standard Life and TEDA Investment Holding Company, was officially opened this week.

The green light from the Chinese regulator (CIRC) to commence trading marks a further important stage in its expansion programme, according to Sandy Crombie, chief executive of Standard Life. Crombie said: “This marks an important step in our Chinese expansion programme. In conjunction with our joint venture partner, Heng An Standard Life now has access to Tianjin, Qingdao and Beijing, three of China’s fastest growing cities. "We hope to build on this in the future and I am confident our new branch will help support our growth plans.”
