BNY Mellon plans expansion in Asia-Pacific
BNY Mellon has announced "ambitious expansion plans for its Asia-Pacific investment management business" and has appointed Jane Caire to see the plans through in the newly created role of Head of Strategy & Development, Product & Marketing for Investment Management in the Asia-Pacific region.
Caire’s new base is Hong Kong from where she’ll report to Alan Harden, Asia-Pacific CEO of BNY Mellon Investment Management. In this role, she’ll be responsible for the firm's strategic business development across the region as it seeks to evolve from a local distributor to a regional product innovator and global preferred provider of Asian investment strategies.
“Asia-Pacific is strategically a very important market for BNY Mellon and we are very serious in our ambitions to become one of the premier investment management firms in the region,” says Harden. "We will do this by strengthening our distribution, both in-country and regionally, by developing our Asian equity capabilities in the region, and by building local and innovative product solutions, tailored to the needs of both our local and global clients."
Caire joins BNY Mellon from ING Investment Management where she was most recently Head of Business Management, having joined the firm in 2008 as Regional Head of Product Development and Management. She has more than 19 years' experience in the Asian financial services industry, following 10 years' corporate legal experience in Australia.
