Carne Global Financial Services has opened offices in the Cayman Islands following a recent licence being granted by the islands' monetary authority.
The independent consultant to the fund, hedge fund and wealth management industries was granted a licence by the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority in order to provide directorships, fund establishment assistance plus corporate and oversight services.
Following the opening of a Geneva office last year, plus the launch of London-based alternative and wealth management divisions earlier in 2008, the Cayman office is part of Carne's expansion strategy.
The firm seeks representation in all the world's major fund management domiciles.
Peter Heaps has been appointed managing director, Cayman Islands, working closely with Aymeric Lechartier and Christian Wells, managing directors of Carne London and Carne Switzerland respectively.
Heaps joined Carne from RBC Dexia Investor Services Ireland, where he was managing director. Prior to that, he worked for HSBC in Dublin as European head of client relationship management- alternative fund services and executive director of the fund administration company.
Carne's other offices are in Dublin, London, Geneva and Luxembourg.
