Stoxx, a major provider of European equity indices, has appointed Ricardo Manrique as chief executive officer.
Manrique will identify strategic business initiatives, develop new licensing opportunities and position the Dow Jones Stoxx indices strategically, said the firm.
He will also be responsible for planning and the daily management of Stoxx, it added.
Werner Bürki, chairman of the Stoxx supervisory board, said: “Ricardo’s great experience in index development, structured products and the derivatives marketplace will be an immense advantage for Stoxx Ltd.
“Having worked with him before, we know he is a valuable asset to our team and we are confident that he will further strengthen Stoxx’s success.”
Prior to joining Stoxx, Manrique was responsible for Latin American derivatives sales and structuring at Standard Bank. He previously spent 10 years in various derivatives and indexing positions at JPMorgan, Stoxx and Dow Jones Indexes.
At Stoxx, Manrique was previously responsible for index operations and product development.
