Standard Bank has chosen Jersey as its international headquarters and has appointed Ian Gibson as chief executive of Standard Bank Offshore.
Gibson will move from the bank's office in London and will be responsible for the group's international asset management and private client business. He will have direct responsibility for the Standard Bank Offshore operations in Jersey, the Isle of Man and Mauritius.
He joined Standard Bank in 1992 as financial controller when the group opened its international operations in London. Gibson was appointed finance director in 1996 joining the board and executive committee of the Bank of London.
