Name: Robert Wakefield
Promoted: Aspect Capital
Aspect Capital has appointed Robert Wakefield as chief operating officer. He has overall responsibility for dealing, operations and IT across the hedge fund managers. Wakefield joined Aspect in 2000 after spending six years with Tullett and Tokyo in London and New York on its institutional futures and options sales desk, and then working at ED&F Man International from 1999 to 2000. Over the past five years, Wakefield has been director of trading at Aspect.

To: F&C Asset Management
F&C has recruited Nick Ford as director of US Smaller Companies. Ford is jointly managing the US Smaller Companies fund. He has joined from Gartmore where he co-managed the US Smaller Companies fund. Ford reports to Robert Siddles, who is a director and head of US Smaller Companies. Ford began his career as a US analyst at Capel-Cure Myers in London. He moved to Sun Alliance and then took over the management of Clerical Medical American Growth.
Name: Simon Fraser
Promoted: Fidelity Int'l
Simon Fraser is to become president of the UK and European institutional business at Fidelity International. Currently chief investment officer (CIO), he will take on responsibility for developing the asset manager's multi-manager funds as well as new fund and product development strategy. Fraser has worked at Fidelity for almost 25 years.

To: Forsyth Partners
From: DBS Vickers
Forsyth Partners has recruited Chi Hao Lee as director of sales for Hong Kong and Singapore. He has joined from DBS Vickers where he co-founded and co-managed the Asian hedge fund desk. Prior to that, Lee spent five years as an analyst for the Asian region for Daiwa Institute of Research and macro and technical analysis on Asia, Latin America and EEMEA for CLSA Emerging Markets.

To: Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust
From: Nicholas Applegate Capital Management
Henderson Global Investors has recruited Andrew Beal, who he will take over as fund manager of the Henderson TR Pacific Investment Trust. He succeeds Michael Watt as manager of the trust. Beal was most recently lead portfolio manager of emerging markets and Pacific Rim for Nicholas Appleegate Capital Management in San Diego. He was formerly responsible for the Pimco NACM Pacific Rim fund.

To: HSBC Investments
From: Aon Consulting
Chris Gower has been hired as consultant relationship manager at HSBC Investments. He is a qualified actuary and has previously worked for LCP and Aon Consulting. At HSBC, Gower will be responsible for developing key relationships and distributing the firm's products and services to UK Investment Consultants.
Name: Nicholas Hamilton
To: iimia Investment Group
Nicholas Hamilton has joined the board of iimia Investment Group as a non-executive director. Hamilton, who is currently a director of Storeys Group, will serve on the Board's audit and remuneration committees. He has been head of corporate finance at Schroder Securities and head of corporate finance at Carr Kitcat & Aitken. In 1998, Hamilton set up his own consultancy business and in 2000 joined Travelstore.com Group as interim finance director.

From: Citigroup Asset Management
Martin Currie has appointed Rahul Sharma as sector manager of a team to research and recommend consumer stocks. He has joined from Citigroup Asset Management, where he led the eight-strong global consumer research team. Prior to Citigroup, Sharma was an equity research analyst for Alliance Capital Management in Singapore and portfolio manager for its Asian emerging markets funds.

Christopher Russell has joined the litigation team at Ogier & Boxalls as senior counsel in the Cayman Islands. Russell had practised as a Barrister in England and Wales from 1971 and has been with New Square Chambers in Lincolns Inn in London since 1984. According to Ogier & Boxalls, Russell specialises in commercial, litigation and advisory work.

To: RMB MultiManagers
From: Wadhwani Asset Management
RMB MultiManagers has appointed Simon Collins as operations analyst for alternative strategies. He will be responsible for operational aspects of the alternative strategies team and reports to Stephen Marsh, head of performance, reporting and trading. Before joining RMB MultiManagers, Collins worked for the operations department of Wadhwani Asset Management, where his responsibilities included liaising with prime brokers and traders on a daily basis.

Bina Sanghvi has been named director and chief operating officer of Platinum Capital Management. She was formerly group finance director and COO of the fund of hedge funds managers Attica Alternative Investments Group. Sanghvi was investment operations director of Gensec International and finance director and compliance director of Quaestor Investment Management.

To: Palamon Capital Partners
From: Compass Partners
Private equity firm Palamon Capital Partners has appointed Ron Bell as chief financial officer. He will be responsible for developing financial strategies and structures for Palamon and its portfolio of investments. Bell has joined from Compass Partners where he was financial director for over seven years.
Name: Leon Howard-Spink
Leon Howard-Spink is to join Schroders in November. He is currently manager of the Jupiter European Special Situations fund. He is joined by Gary Clarke, who is moving from Gartmore, and Denis Clough, who has returned from sabbatical. The recruitment of Howard-Spink follows the decisions of Zafar Ahmadullah and Adriaan de Mol van Otterloo to leave to set up separate fund management boutiques.

Lorenzo Gallenga has been recruited by SG Asset Management to manage its two gilt funds based in Paris. Gallenga managed the global book of bond business at Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch in London.

Darren Arman has been hired by Singer & Friedlander Private Banking to establish an expatriate banking division that will focus on foreign nationals working and living in the UK. He has been joined by Richard McAdam and Alex Eichhorn.
