Old Mutual Asset Management (Omam) has recruited a European team to launch a European equity long/short fund.
The team is headed by Graeme Gilchrist, who was a founding partner at Cambrian Capital Management. He will be supported by Graham Forster who was previously a fund manager at Deutsche Asset Management and Dorothee Deck who was a European equity analyst at US multi-strategy hedge fund Carlson Capital.
Full details on how the fund will be run by the team are yet to be decided.
Eoin Murray, chief investment officer at Omam, said: "The recruitment of a European equity team has been a key element of our growth plan. It is our intention to expand our alternative product offering and the team will focus on developing a European long/short equity strategy, which will add a further layer of diversification to our investment range."key points
