Legal & General remained tight lipped about the launch of its Dublin-based offshore life assurance bond, despite plans to enter the market in 2007. However, the group is actively recruiting for the position of chief executive to lead the launch and then run the new business. Legal & General has indicated in the past its desire to expand operations into Dublin. It is likely the group would launch an offshore single premium bond. Meanwhile, Standard Life expected its Dublin-based portfolio bond would be ready for launch in late January or February next year, following a delay. The bond is expected to offer a wide range of underlying investments.
