Mark Hassett is to become a client services director at Abacus as part of its financial consulting team. He has more than 15 years' experience in private banking and strategic wealth management. He joins from Credit Suisse where he was a director and head of UK private clients. Prior to that, he headed the private banking sales team at Coutts & Co.

From: Allied Irish Bank
Investec Bank has recruited Chris Blowers as its head of Structured Property Lending from the Allied Irish Bank, where he was chief manager of its London corporate team. Blowers began his career in the financial services industry more than 20 years ago with Williams & Glyns's Bank. He will be based in Guernsey.

From: Barclays Private Bank
Eleonore Dachicourt has been named head of the hedge fund advisory group for private clients advised out of London at Credit Suisse. She has previously worked at Barclays and UBS Wealth Management. She will be reporting to Craig Lewis, head of investment solutions.

To: Threadneedle Investments
From: If Property & Casualty Insurance
Threadneedle has announced Thomas Berglund as their head of Nordic Distribution. He will be responsible for developing Threadneedle's presence across Scandinavia. He joins from If Property & Casualty Insurance, and began his career in the financial services sector with Anderson Consulting (now Accenture).

To: Merrill Lynch Investment Managers
From: Close Finsbury Asset Management
Keith Marcroft has been appointed sales manager of the UK retail fund business in the North of England and Scotland by Merrill Lynch. He was a regional sales director for Close Finsbury and previously for Edinburgh Fund Managers, where he covered Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. He will report to Alex Hector-Duncan, sales director of UK retail.

To: Guardian Managers
Goeffrey Button is to become a member of the board of the Guardian Manager's New Europe Emerging Cities Fund. He is an unaffiliated director of Duke Realty, and has previously been an executive director of Allied Domecq Pension Funds. He has been involved in commercial real estate in the UK, the US and Canada for more than 30 years.

To: Mercer Investment Consulting
From: Watson Wyatt
Mercer Investment Consulting has appointed Debbie Clarke as a member of its European manager research team. As a senior equity researcher, she will be responsible for covering a range of equity strategies. Debbie Clarke has over 20 years' investment experience and was previously a consultant and manager researcher at Watson Wyatt. Prior to that, she was head of global equities at Friends Ivory & Sime.

To: RMB MultiManagers
RMB have reappointed Thor Abrahamsen as senior analyst for alternative strategies, with responsibility for hedge funds and investment strategy research. He worked at RMB as a senior investment analyst before leaving to go traveling in 2004.
Name: Rabbani Wahhab
To: London & Capital
From: Aberdeen Asset Management
Rabbani Wahhab is to become a senior fixed income portfolio manager at London & Capital. Rabbani joins from Aberdeen Asset Management and has over 20 years' experience in the bond markets. He will report directly to Ashok Shah, chief investment officer and work closely with Sanjay Joshi, head of fixed income.

To: Bank of Ireland Offshore
From: Abbey International Life Division
The Bank of Ireland Offshore has appointed David Gilpin as head of the marketing and product development function, and will be responsible for both the Bank of Ireland and Bristol and West international brands. In addition, he will be responsible for developing and co-ordinating the implementation of an international marketing strategy for the business. Previously, he was head of international marketing for Abbey International Life Division.
Name: Neil Craddock
Citisoft has announced the appointment of Neil Craddock as head of its wealth management practice. He will be responsible for assisting wealth managers in addressing the changes required as a result of competitive pressures, increasing regulation, industry consolidation, and the growing number of boutique wealth managers requiring scalable operational platforms. Prior to this, he has held positions as business analyst and project manager at Foreign & Colonial Management, Coutts & Co. and Newton Investment Management.
Name: Jayne Stevlingson
From: Altura Asset Management
Jayne Stevlingson will be joining Gartmore as senior investment manager. Stevlingson previously worked for New York-based Altura Asset Management, and will assume portfolio co-management responsibilities on the Gartmore US Smaller Companies Fund and the Gartmore SICAV US Smaller Companies Fund. She will be reporting to Young Chin, Gartmore's US CEO and co-global CIO.
Name: Graham Martin
To: Optima Group Holdings
Optima has appointed Graham Martin as managing director of its new London office. He joins from Gartmore where he was business development director for its hedge fund arm. Martin has over 16 years' experience in the fund management industry, five of which have been with hedge funds.
