Offshore investing is becoming increasingly relevant to the UK adviser market, according to research undertaken at the end of last year by Legal & General International (Ireland).
More than three-quarters of those questioned (78%) thought the volume of international business they transact would stay the same or increase in the near future.
Almost half (47%) of the sample saw a growing understanding of international investment products driving demand, while 88% said they were drawn to international investments because of the powerful tax planning benefits they provide - although clarity is still awaited from the Treasury on whether these tax benefits will endure.
