To: Barclays Global Investors (BGI)

Rohit Bhagat has joined Barclays Global Investors (BGI) as global chief operating officer. Bhagat has responsibility for the technology, operations, finance, strategic planning, human resources, legal, compliance and risk functions for BGI. He has replaced Rich Ricci, who in January 2005 became chief operating officer of Barclays Capital and Barclays Private Clients.
Name: Chantal Mazzacurati
Promoted: BNP Paribas Asset Management
Chantal Mazzacurati has been named head of BNP Paribas Asset Management's Alternative Investment Management (BNP PAM) and Structured and Indexed management teams. She is also responsible for Overlay Asset Management, a BNP PAM subsidiary specialising in currency management. Reporting directly to Giles Glicenstein, she will become a member of the management committee of BNP Paribas Asset Management.
Name: Charles Egerton-Warburton
Promotion: Credit Suisse Private Banking
Charles Egerton-Warburton has been named head of onshore private banking UK at Credit Suisse. He reports to Jeremy Marshall, chief executive officer of Credit Suisse UK. Egerton-Warburton is currently a managing director of Credit Suisse First Boston.
Name: John Weguelin
To: European Islamic Investment Bank
From: Bank of America Securities
European Islamic Investment Bank (EIIB) has named John Weguelin as managing director. He was previously managing director of Bank of America Securities in London as well as chief operating officer and chief administration officer of Bank of America for Europe, Middle East and Africa. EIIB has also appointed MA Mohaimin Chowdhury as head of legal and Sharia'a compliance.
Name: Ray Pettitt and Martyn Scriven
To: FirstRand International Asset Management
Ray Pettitt and Martyn Scriven have been appointed to the board of FirstRand International Asset Management, the parent company of Jersey-based Ashburton. Pettitt is a former board member of Jersey General Group Holdings, which became FirstRand International Asset Management. He is also a former chairman and chief executive officer of Minet Holdings, a global Lloyd's of London insurance brokerage company.
Name: Catherine Stanley
Promotion: F&C Asset Management
F&C Asset Management has named Catherine Stanley as head of UK Smaller Companies. She succeeds Sandy Fleming, who is retiring at the end of July after nearly 12 years at the asset manager. The F&C UK Smaller Companies team comprises four fund managers based in its offices in London and Edinburgh.

To: Forsyth Partners
Forsyth Partners has recruited Shane Curran as its first operating officer. Curran will also assume responsibility for the investment administration team. Curran, who is a qualified chartered accountant, was previously global head of investor services at Invesco. Curran said: "Forsyth Partners is reviewing its systems and procedures in readiness for the nest growth phase."
Name: Jeff Meyer and Les Aitkenhead
Jeff Meyer has been promoted to chief executive officer of Gartmore European. He has taken on responsibility of the European commercial and operational functions. He will also oversee global administration functions. He is currently executive vice-president and global chief financial officer of Gartmore Group, having joined in February 2004. Les Aitkenhead has been promoted to chief operating officer of Gartmore Europe and reports to Meyer.
Name: Stewart Tan
To: Insight Investment
From: Auspex Group
Insight Investment has hired Stewart Tan as a fund manager within its fixed income team. He will be responsible for managing an absolute return bond fund in the Absolute Insight range. Tan, who previously managed a fixed income global macro hedge fund at the Auspex Group, will report to Adrian Grey, head of fixed income at Insight Investment.

From: Ogier & Boxalls
Mourant du Feu & Jeune has appointed Roisin Cater as a partner and head of its Cayman Islands-based funds team. Cater specialises in funds and corporate transactions and has practised in the Caymans since 1996.
Name: Mark Redway
To: RAB Capital
From: Canaccord Capital
Mark Redway has joined RAB Capital as a fund manager on its energy strategy. He has moved from Canaccord Capital, where he was a senior investment analyst for 10 years. At RAB Capital, Redway will work with Gavin Wilson, director of energy investments.
Name: Chris Bevan
To: Walbrook Group
Walbrook Group has appointed Chris Bevan to head its family office services. He will be responsible for providing trust and tax services to Walbrook Group's international private clients. It has operations in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man. Bevan has worked in the offshore finance industry for more than 10 years, including six years in Hong Kong where he headed KPMG's international private client services.

David Herratt has joined William Russell to head the insurance protection insurance provider's new office in Hong Kong. Herratt has joined from Lloyd's of London. Paul Andrews, business development manager of William Russell, said: "A Hong Kong office is the first step towards a whole programme of ideas and plans that we at William Russell have for consolidating our products and services in the region."

To: Zurich International Solutions
From: Zurich Municipal
Zurich International Solutions (ZIS) has appointed Andrew Bailey as commercial director. He has joined from Zurich Municipal, where he had been strategic marketing manager since July 2002. At ZIS, Bailey will oversee market segmentation, product development, investment management and technical support. He will also be responsible for the maintenance and development of ZIS' product range.
