Henderson Global Investors has launched an Asian Dividend Income fund, run by Mike Kerley, into its Luxembourg range.
Asian Dividend Income aims to provide investors with exposure to key investment opportunities in the Asia Pacific region, targeting a yield of above 4%.
It will typically hold between 40 to 60 stocks, with a focus on value and long-term capital growth, and is benchmarked against the MSCI All Countries Asia Pacific ex-Japan index.
Kerley and his team of nine, including four analysts based in Singapore, will cover a universe of more than 3,000 stocks to seek out companies best placed to grow their earnings.
He uses a combination of instruments such as convertible bonds and contracts for difference (CFDs) to improve returns.
This latest addition to the Horizon range is designed to capitalise on improving market conditions in Asia.
Kerley said: "Bond yields in Asia have fallen significantly over the past six years, prompting a search for yield in other areas. At the same time, improving profits, and stable capital expenditure has led to rising net cashflows, meaning Asian markets now offer an income premium over those of Europe and the US."
Charges on the fund are 5% initial and 1.2% annual, with a minimum investment of $2,500.key points
