Bank of Butterfield International now offers online access to its banking services for both its private clients and intermediaries.
The key features of Butterfield Online include the ability to check balances and view statements; pay bills; set up money market fixed deposits; order bank drafts; order sterling cheque books; initiate foreign exchange; transfer funds between internal accounts; initiate international payments; issue instructions on maturing money market fixed deposits; and send secure messages to the bank.
Julien Martel, head of private banking and business development at Bank of Butterfield, said: "We have looked at the online offerings provided by our competitors and have designed a service that combines the best features already available to create a new generation of online banking services. Our client base is truly global and requires round-the-clock access to their finances. "However, because we have both wealthy private clients, their advisers and intermediaries as customers, the degree of sophistication required is far higher. Butterfield Online will provide them with a facility for managing their banking arrangements 24-hours a day, regardless of time zone of location."
