Rathbone Investment Man-agement International has launched a range of funds for the offshore marketplace.
The Strategy funds are primarily aimed at private clients and their advisers, corporate trustees, pension funds and charities, and offer two core strategies, in three currencies: sterling, euros and US dollars.
One strategy is capital preservation, targeting an objective of cash +2% with a maximum drawdown of 3% and the other is managed growth, targeting an objective of inflation +5% with a maximum drawdown of 8%. The funds will be Jersey Expert Funds listed on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange.
David Coombs, Strategy funds lead manager, said: "These funds are aimed at minimising risk. We have no index benchmark to meet so we can be more flexible with our asset allocation. We are adopting a very defensive stance at present and have no exposure to bonds or emerging markets. However, we have placed a particularly heavy weighting in structured products - 30% of the managed growth fund is in structured products because we feel they have matured significantly as an asset class and are very keenly priced at present."
The minimum investment is £50,000 and the annual management charge is 1.5%, of which 0.5% is available as rebate. The initial charge is 3%, the dealing is done monthly and there are no exit charges.
