International investors will be able to invest in the Dubai property market through the launch of the sterling-denominated Dubai Realty Opportunities trust (DRO).
The initial offering will be a combination of ordinary shares and loan stock. The asset allocation investment split for the portfolio will be one third ordinary share capital and two thirds loan stock. The minimum investment is £2,400. The product will be available to all investors outside the US and Canada.
Nozmul Islam, chief executive officer of the DRO, said: "Our strategy is simple. We aim to buy property in bulk off-plan, which will then be resold. DRO will gain from the difference between the bulk and individual prices as well as any increase in property value."
Minimum investment: £2,400
Commission fees: Intermediaries receive 2.5% commission.
Where available?: Anywhere except US and Canada.
