group adds global equity and asia-pacific funds to hedge fund range
Henderson Global Investors has expanded its multi-strategy hedge fund range with the launch of global equity and Asia Pacific products.
The Global Equity Multi-Strategy hedge fund, launched last month, has a pure alpha strategy and an absolute return objective. The portfolio is market neutral and has a target volatility rate of 10%. It invests in Europe, North America and the Asia Pacific region.
The fund is co-managed by David Elms, who focuses on Europe, Robert Villiers (North America) and Indaka Nanayakkara (Asia Pacific).
The product complements Henderson's existing regional multi-strategy funds operating in Europe and North America.
Hendersons launched Pan European Equity Multi-Strategy in December 2003 and North America Equity Multi-Strategy fin May 2005. Both funds have generated annualised returns of around 8%.
An Asia-Pacific Equity Multi-Strategy fund, based on the existing Asia mandate in the global multi-strategy fund, will be launched later this month. Nanayakkara is to take charge of the portfolio.
Kate O'Neill, director of hedge funds at Hendersons, said: "With the simplicity of a single wrapper the fund aims to generate a balanced alpha across global regions and a set of strategies, namely relative value, event driven, fundamental and liquidity."
Both funds are domiciled in the Cayman Islands and listed on the Irish Stock Exchange. There are dollar, euro and sterling share classes available.
Minimum investment is £100,000 and there is a 2% annual management charge. There are also performance fees on both portfolios
