Henderson Global Investors has launched a special situations hedge fund.
The fund, managed by Adam Tyrrell and Will Ballard invests in companies involved in corporate restructuring, such as takeover and merger situations. It also focuses on other corporate structure arbitrage opportunities such as holding companies and share class trades.
The vehicle invests on a global basis and predominantly follows the event-driven strategy of Henderson's multi-strategy equities team, which has achieved an annualised return of 13.88% since 2004.
Kate O'Neill, director of hedge funds at Henderson, said Tyrrell has more than 15 years' experience in derivatives and special situations and is already contributing to the performance of the existing multi-strategy hedge funds.
The fund has a minimum investment of $100,000. A euro share class is also available. It is domiciled in the Cayman Islands and has an annual management charge of 1.5%.
