Philip M. Butterfield has been appointed chief operating officer at Bank of Bermuda. He was previously chief administration officer at Bank of Bermuda where he was responsible for the bank's operations, information systems and human resources divisions. In his new role Butterfield takes on overall responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the bank.
Rothschild Asset Management
Neil Kerry and Shane O'Neil have been appointed investment sales managers at Rothschild Asset Management. Kerry previously worked for Scottish Value and will be responsible for discretionary and investment intermediary relationships in northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland. O'Neil previously worked for Gartmore and will be responsible for relationships in London and the south of England. In addition, Chris Warren has been appointed manager of the broker support team.
HSBC Bank International
Marianne Sunier has been appointed head of marketing offshore islands at HSBC Bank International. Sunier will be responsible for the marketing of HSBC in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man as well as wealth management services provided by the bank. She has more than 24 years' experience and previous positions include senior management roles in sales, marketing and public relations positions at Barclays Bank.
Simon Wilson has been appointed head of marketing at Govett Investments. In his new position he will be responsible for marketing Govett Investments open-ended funds to intermediaries. Govett Investments is completing a strategic development programme which includes the establishment of a new brand identity, e-commerce platform and communications strategy to strengthen its intermediary proposition.
Global Asset Management
Clare Dobie has been appointed managing director of marketing at Global Asset Management. In her new position she will be responsible for Global Asset Management's global marketing strategy and brand development, for external and internal communications, and internet marketing.
Jonathan Moseley has been appointed managing director for clients in Europe. He will be responsible for the overall development of GAM's relationship across Europe (excluding Switzerland, Austria and Germany).
Scottish Life International
Susan Quayle has been appointed technical services manager at Scottish Life International within its Group Compliance and legal department. She was previously with Scottish Provident International where she was marketing manager technical compliance. Prior to this, Quayle was at Axa Equity & Law International and Royal Life International. Her responsibilities will be to provide technical advice and support internally with regards to current UK and European legislation, tax and trusts, competitor and product analysis as well as providing internal training to the customer services team.
London Financial Services
Michael Weldon, senior manager Banking Supervision at the Isle of Man Financial Supervision Commission has been seconded to the London Financial Services Authority for a period of one month.
Paul de Weerd has been appointed senior manager CSP Licensing and Supervision at the Financial Supervision Commission. He was previously superintendent at Financial Services Commission, Turks and Caicos Islands where he was responsible for the supervision of all financial activities.
