Disappointing results for fund of hedge fund managers over the first half of 2005 shows that they are not entirely independent of market conditions, according to a recent report by Standard & Poor's. Widening credit spreads and trend reversals were a drag on the sector. Falling equity markets has also had an impact on funds of hedge funds with large allocations to equity long/short funds.
