SCIL installs new chairman

Scarborough Channel Islands Ltd (SCIL) has appointed Jim Gilligan as its board chairman. Gilligan had worked at private bank Kleinwort Benson in Guernsey for 33 years, latterly as managing director. He joined SCIL in December but will continue as a non-executive director of his former employer. Gilligan's arrival follows the appointment last summer of Tony Burdin as managing director. Burdin said he was delighted with the appointment, which will enable his organisation to benefit from Gilligan's wealth of banking expertise, and his knowledge of the offshore market in particular.
