The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has appointed Saatchi brothers' M&C Saatchi and its affiliate Saatchi Masius to lead its behaviour change communication work over the next four years.
The agencies will support the consumer protection campaigns of the FCA's communications and international division.
In particular M&C Saatchi, the global advertising company of Saatchi brothers Charles and Maurice, will develop behaviour change campaigns such as tackling investment fraud.
Saatchi Masius, a Saatchi network-affiliated smaller communications agency, will support the FCA's takeover of consumer credit regulation from the Office of Fair Trading from 1 April.
Director of communications Zitah McMillan said: "Our aim is to use communications alongside our other regulatory tools to help protect consumers.
"This is a new approach for the FCA and we have selected agencies with keen professional expertise and creativity.
"Their extensive experience in developing behaviour change communications will be critical in helping us reach and influence consumers when they are facing particular financial risks."
She added the FCA seeks to work closely with its regulatory partners and the Money Advice Service, as well as trade and consumer organisations to achieve its consumer protection agenda.
