Michael Paul, investment manager at City Asset Management, is joining Brewin Dolphin's research team.
He joined City Asset Management in 2009, after graduated from Bath University, and was specifically responsible for research on structured products, emerging markets and Asia.
He will be leaving his current position at the end of the month to join Brewin Dolphin's research team.
Brewin group head of research Matthew Butcher left the company in October, but the research team remains 20-strong in number.
Brewin Dolphin announced in December that it would be cutting investment services for clients with portfolios valued at under £50,000, in light of the incurred costs.
Meanwhile, City Asset Management has been adding to its own team, with two new hires in January.
The firm has appointed Matt Groom as investment director and Thomas Watts to work on support and new client business.
