Aegon UK head of protection proposition exits amid restructure

Aegon UK is proposing to make the role of protection distribution director redundant and has announced the exit of its head of protection proposition as part of wide-ranging changes to its protection unit.

Existing protection distribution director Martin Williamson has entered a consultation process and may be considered for the new role of distribution development director or for another position elsewhere in the business, while John Wilkinson has left the company. As part of the changes, the group has created six new roles in the distribution team, including a head of protection sales. Dougy Grant (pictured), previously retail strategy director, has been appointed as protection director. Aegon UK said protection will now become a single end-to-end business within the group.
