The Personal Finance Society (PFS) has reported a marked increased in the number of Chartered financial planners - with Imperial Financial Planning's Michael Doy lucky number 4,000.
The professional body, part of the Chartered Insurance Institute, said Chartered adviser numbers had risen from 3,500 to 4,000 in the last 12 months. Doy, a senior IFA at Imperial Financial Planning in Leicester, was the adviser who broke the 4,000 barrier. Some 12% of PFS members have now obtained the status, a record proportion. Chartered status for individuals was launched in 2005.
