Barings poaches AllianceBernstein man to spearhead product drive

Baring Asset Management has appointed James Ross to the newly created London-based role of director of investment process.

In the new role, Ross will oversee the investment strategy across the group's product offering. Ross, who was at AllianceBernstein for 12 years, will report to Marino Valensise, chief investment officer at Barings, and will begin the new role on 2 September. In his last role he was head of senior portfolio managers covering global growth, and was also involved in the management of the firm's global equity portfolios.
