Baring Asset Management has appointed James Ross to the newly created London-based role of director of investment process.
In the new role, Ross will oversee the investment strategy across the group's product offering.
Ross, who was at AllianceBernstein for 12 years, will report to Marino Valensise, chief investment officer at Barings, and will begin the new role on 2 September.
In his last role he was head of senior portfolio managers covering global growth, and was also involved in the management of the firm's global equity portfolios.
Ross also developed AllianceBernstein's multi-asset product range.
Valensise said: "This has been an exciting time for Barings as we continue to develop innovative products in new investment areas, such as the Baring Frontier Markets fund and the Baring Emerging Market Corporate Debt fund.
"Alongside overseeing the investment process for existing products, this role has been created to develop, implement and regularly review the investment processes for the suite of new products."
