Police and regulatory action against pension liberation fraud is making progress, although much of the work is still taking place behind the scenes, delegates heard.
Several delegates at the Association of Member-Directed Pension Schemes (AMPS) conference, being held today in London, said they were frustrated by the on-going fraud and how best to tackle the problem. Representatives from The Pensions Regulator and the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA) said they understood the frustrations but they were building a strong strategy behind the scenes and input from the industry was essential.
