Franklin Templeton: investors bullish on equities and precious metals

Global investors are feeling bullish about the prospect of further stockmarket gains this year, and are also favouring precious metals despite recent price falls, according to the Franklin Templeton Global Investor Sentiment survey.

A majority of 60% of global investors believe their country's stock market will be up in 2013, in a poll of 9,518 investors across 19 countries. Globally, stocks and precious metals were each selected by 21% of investors as the asset classes expected to perform best in 2013. In addition, 66% of investors now expect the best equity and fixed income opportunities will be found outside their home market this year, reflecting growing optimism for global investing.
