Aviva launches RDR-ready share classes for range of funds

Aviva Investors has introduced Retail Distribution Review (RDR)-ready share classes for a range of its most popular funds to cater for the needs of UK advisers and intermediaries.
The firm has introduced a complete discount on initial charges across the full range of its onshore OEIC funds for advised and direct business.
It has also created additional share classes on a number of funds without a trail commission for UK advisers that deal with the business directly.
These include the UK Equity Income fund, the multi-asset fund range and the Property Trust, with annual management charges between 0.75% and 1%.
Institutional investors will also have access to various commission-free share classes with charges between 0.15% and 1%, which will also be available on products sold through platforms.
The firm has also launched a trail commission free ‘R' share class on the Global High Yield fund, UK Equity Focus fund, Global Convertibles fund and the Emerging Markets Local Currency Bond fund. This share class will be offered on other SICAV funds where there is sufficient demand.
Jeremy Leadsom, sales director for UK financial institutions, said: "The RDR is bringing about a shift in the priorities of investors and their advisers. We have been engaging with UK intermediaries and responding to their changing needs, and one of the steps we have taken is to review and adapt our share class and pricing models to meet the new environment for fee structures."
