Prudential has appointed Philip John Remnant to its board as non-executive director and senior independent director.
Remnant joins Prudential from Credit Suisse, where he is currently a senior adviser. He is also deputy chairman of the Takeover Panel, non-executive director of UK Financial Investments and chair of City of London Investment Trust.
He will begin the role as of 1 January 2013 and replaces Paul Manduca, who held the position until he was named chairman earlier this year.
Remnant will also join the nomination, audit and remuneration committees.
Manduca commented: "Philip adds to the strength of our board as we meet the opportunities created by our continued profitable growth and the challenges of the still uncertain global macroeconomic climate."
