Prudential appoints Remnant independent director

Prudential has appointed Philip John Remnant to its board as non-executive director and senior independent director.

Remnant joins Prudential from Credit Suisse, where he is currently a senior adviser. He is also deputy chairman of the Takeover Panel, non-executive director of UK Financial Investments and chair of City of London Investment Trust. He will begin the role as of 1 January 2013 and replaces Paul Manduca, who held the position until he was named chairman earlier this year. Remnant will also join the nomination, audit and remuneration committees.
