The IMA has soft launched a consumer website, providing investors with details on charges, risk ratings and fund performance, as well as commentary on regulation and checklists.
The website, which went live yesterday, will officially launch in the New Year but until then a selection of industry commentators have been asked to provide feedback.
It has been launched for advanced investors to check technical details of over 2,000 funds. They can use the Fund Directory to look up risk ratings, provided by FE, as well as charges, minimum investments and performance figures, supplied by Morningstar.
Consumers can get more information of how funds are regulated in the UK, sector definitions as well as where products can be bought and sold directly or on platforms.
It also provides investors with checklists to tick off their portfolio requirements but there are no fund recommendations.
The IMA hopes the site will prove to be a useful financial education tool for investors.
