A group of Nucleus IFAs have produced a free guide to risk management in advisory businesses.
It details the biggest threat to firms post-RDR, including client bank issue, proper use of support tools, investment, platform choice and HR.
Kenny McKenzie, a member of the Nucleus advisory board and partner of SAM Wealth, said: "The RDR is going to result in a great deal of business model modification as advisory firms review key parts of their proposition.
"As firms take greater control of the different aspects of the supply chain supporting their client propositions, a great deal of different solutions are being adopted across the industry.
"We hope this paper will be a useful tool as part of advisers' continued success in the new-look landscape."
The FSA is taking an increasing in how firms deal with risk management, the report states.
It has recently been carrying out business risk awareness workshops across the country, followed up with further inspections and interviews.
"This is a theme that is either explicit or implicit running through the majority of FSA publications, from guidance consultations through to policy statements," the report said.
