Some 70% of advisers plan to use an external solution to help meet auto-enrolment technology requirements, Staffcare research reveals.
The software provider's survey of 112 advisers and 26 employers found just 20% of adviser respondents intended to recommend pension providers' systems to administer AE and 10% intended to look at a combination of the two.
Among employers, over 92% of those surveyed said administering auto-enrolment were a key concern in relation to the new employer pension duties.
And half said they thought it was either important or very important that their AE technology solution could also be used as an integrated platform for total reward and flexible benefits.
Staffcare founder and chief executive Phil Hollingdale said: "From a technology perspective, the areas of most importance to both advisers and employers appears to be the ability for their auto-enrolment solution to be used with any type of pension scheme and to be built on a robust platform that can manage complex benefit schemes.
"Over 92% of employers surveyed are concerned about administering auto-enrolment, so feature-rich technology is a must."
