Aegon UK has appointed Richard Dallas as director of marketing and transformation, a role which will see him spearhead the development of the company's platform business.
Dallas joined the company as transformation director in April but has now had his role expanded following the departure of Paul McMahon last month to FNZ.
One of his key responsibilities will be to ensure the success of platform business Aegon Retirement Choices, which will shortly be launching a workplace savings solution.
Dallas said: "Looking forward we need to be where our customers expect us to be to meet their retirement, investment and protection needs.
"This will be through financial advisers, but is also likely to include strategic relationships with banks and affinity groups where customers will not necessarily be engaging with the traditional forms of financial advice that they are presently.
Parent company Aegon recently revealed plans to double the proportion of sales it makes directly to customers to about a third by 2015.
