The Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares sector continued to prove popular with investors in May, figures show.
The high-flying sector accounted for 49% of all net sales on the Cofunds platform, boasting five funds in the top 20.
Strategic Bond, meanwhile, remained the second most popular sector on Cofunds, accounting for 22% of net sales. Richard Woolnough's M&G Optimal Income fund was the strongest fund in the sector, securing top spot in the best-selling fund chart.
Corporate Bond, however, dropped back in May with only 5% of net sales compared to a 9% year to date (YTD) average. M&G Strategic Corporate Bond and M&G Corporate Bond funds were the only funds in the sector to feature in the top 20.
Elsewhere, Global funds attracted high levels of net sales last month, with Global Equity Income, Global and Global Emerging Markets accounting for 10%, 7% and 4% of net sales respectively.
But closer to home, UK Equity Income suffered increased outflows in May, accounting for -12% of sales compared to a -9% year-to-date average. Threadneedle UK Equity Income was the only fund in the sector which managed to break into the 20 highest-selling funds on the platform.
Outflows from Europe slowed, however, falling to just -6% of net sales from a year-to-date average of -8%.
"It is not surprising to see Mixed Investment 20-60% Shares continued to reign in May as this popularity is broadly in line with the sector's market share for 2012 overall," said Cofunds head of fund group relations Michelle Woodburn (pictured).
