Meteor has appointed former RBS man David Stuff as managing director of Meteor Investment Solutions (MIS) as it looks to widen the distribution of listed structured products.
Stuff, who most recently worked as a director at RBS Global Banking & Markets, has also worked at J.P. Morgan and Barclays where he ran its UK structured products business.
Meteor said his appointment will allow it to expand the distribution of listed structured products from a range of issuers to investment advisors, wealth managers, private banks and family offices.
The company added Stuff, who has clocked up 25 years of experience in the City, has been a leading light in the development of the UK retail structured product business. Credits include the development of the "plan" concept and the creation of the note structure allowing banks to offer structured notes in the UK.
"We want to establish Meteor as the leading independent distributor of structured products and having David on board is a significant step towards achieving our goal," said Meteor managing director Graham Devile.
