John Clougherty is joining Fidelity Worldwide Investments as head of the wholesale business, IFAonline's sister title Investment Week understands.
Clougherty (pictured) left Aviva Investors at the end of March, where he was chief executive of the funds business, following an announcement the group would be making "organisational changes", which resulted in the loss of 160 jobs.
He spent seven years at Aviva Investors and was previously UK sales director at Skandia and head of UK sales at Merrill Lynch.
The hire follows a number of changes at the top of Fidelity's UK business.
Gary Shaughnessy, former MD of the funds business, recently left Fidelity to become chief executive officer of insurer Zurich's UK life business.
Ben Waterhouse will continue in his role as head of UK retail sales.
Fidelity declined to comment.
