Skandia Investment Group has awarded mandates on its UK Best Ideas and Global Best Ideas funds to Artemis' Global Growth manager Tim Steer.
Steer has been handed a mandate of £38m on Skandia Global Best Ideas and £24m on UK Best Ideas, taking over from Audrey Ryan at Kames Capital.
Steer, who also runs a long/short best ideas mandate within the Skandia UK Strategic Best Ideas fund, now accounts for 16.66% of UK Best Ideas and forms part of the 50% UK allocation on Global Best Ideas.
"Tim is a hugely experienced and highly skilled manager and is well known to us having managed a mandate for UK Best Ideas when at New Star," said SIG portfolio manager Lee Freeman-Shor.
"Additionally, Tim currently manages a mandate in UK Strategic Best Ideas and therefore we have been able to see first hand over a number of years how Tim can add value across the market cap range in a focused portfolio."
Partner Insight: For Blackfinch, the arrival of its IHT portfolio services was a 'natural evolution' in the group's offering and points to an established track record of returning cash to investors.
