Former Gartmore multi-managers Ari Towli and Nick Roberts have joined John Husselbee's multi-asset boutique North Investment Partners.
The pair will work alongside Nick Stanhope on the whole multi-manager range, which had £450m under management as at May 2011. They will report to chief executive Husselbee.
The managers will work to develop specialist risk solutions tailored to clients’ needs, the group said.
At Gartmore the pair were involved in the design and management of the firm’s multi-manager range, which launched in 2004 and run by Bambos Hambi and subsequently Tony Lanning.
Towli was focused on absolute return and risk management during his seven-year tenure at the firm.
Roberts was at Gartmore for a year, having previously been the head of research at Williams de Broe.
The pair left Gartmore when it was taken over by Henderson in a deal completed earlier this year.
Husselbee said: “With the Retail Distribution Review we are seeing once in a generation changes to regulation, and while these changes bring challenges, they also bring fantastic opportunities for our business.”
