Bluefin Wealth Management's Patrick Murphy has been appointed chartered champion of the Personal Finance Society (PFS) for the Surrey region.
The Bluefin chartered financial planner's role will see him host a variety of events for chartered financial planners and engage with a broader audience through local press, media and community events.
"It is of the utmost importance that people are educated about their personal finance, so fulfilling this challenge within the Surrey region is one I look forward to," said Murphy.
The ethos underpinning the PFS is to "lead the financial advice community towards higher levels of professionalism".
This is achieved through a wide range of activities, guidance, publications and educational events all with the aim of benefitting the professional and the consumer alike.
