Cofunds has appointed Mike Preston as head of platform consultancy for its intermediary service.
Preston will drive the next phase in the development of the national field and office-based platform consultants team working with advisers to help them with their platform adoption.
"This demonstrates our commitment, not just to servicing advisory firms, but also to partnering with them, aiming to ensure they're getting the most out of platform tools and services," said sales and marketing director Alastair Conway.
"We are committed to helping our ever expanding client base, by listening to their individual situations and helping them to identify and adopt the most relevant and helpful part of our solution."
Preston has over 30 years' experience in financial services sales management, working with both network members IFAs and directly authorised IFA businesses.
"The next few years will be significant as advisers identify their strategies, re-design their services and prepare for RDR," said Preston. "This creates huge opportunities for platforms that will only be realised by those who develop strong relationships with adviser firms, understand their individual requirements and deliver a quality service to them."
Last week, Cofunds posted profits of £20m for 2010 and unveiled plans to ramp-up its execution-only business.
