Colin Jelley will step down as head of proposition marketing for Skandia, to be replaced by Graham Bentley.
Jelley has decided to leave after 17 years at the business to explore other opportunities in the market, the insurer says.
Bentley has been appointed head of proposition marketing and will take over Jelley's responsibilities.
The change comes as Skandia repositions its marketing strategy to focus on investment solutions delivered via its Skandia Investment Solutions platform.
Jelley, who will stay with Skandia until Christmas, has held a range of roles at the insurer including ten years as intellectual leader and the public face of Skandia's tax and financial planning business.
He chaired the ABI's product tax panel for a decade and has led the industry's response to many legislative changes such as the significant changes to IHT treatment of trusts in 2006.
Bentley was previously head of investment marketing at Skandia and has been helped build the investment proposition on the Skandia Investment Solutions platform.
One of the founding members of Selestia, Bentley has been with the Old Mutual Group for nearly ten years and is an expert on investment theory and platform investment tools and solutions.
Peter Mann, chief executive at Skandia, says: "Colin is well respected as an industry thought leader and intellectual voice in tax and financial planning.
"He has been instrumental in building Skandia's reputation for technical expertise."
Jelley says:"It has been a difficult decision to move on. Legislation and regulation change so quickly that tax and financial planning strategies are an ever evolving challenge.
"It is rewarding to help advisers identify value adding opportunities for their customers."
